Ways to improve social health

Updated: Dec 7, 2023

What is social health?

Social health is about the way a person interacts with other people, contributes to and holds a conversation with people and maintains relationships with people in various situations/circumstances.

How can a person improve their social health?

  • A person could talk to family and friends often so that they continue to feel a sense of belonging to a family/group of people.

  • A person could develop their conversation skills by actively listening to people and responding to what others are saying.

  • A person could continue to work on positive body language like making eye contact or turning to the person who is speaking to them.

  • A person could try to be positive when talking to people so that people will be happy to speak to the person and trust that the person is not going to make fun of them after the conversation has ended.

  • A person should treat others the way they would like to be treated, showing respect and being accepting of what the other person is like.
